Reducing the Environmental Footprint in Industry – New Technologies and the Green Transition
The green transition of Greek industry has now become a strategic priority, aiming to reduce pollutant emissions and the overall environmental footprint of production activities.
According to the National Industrial Strategy, Greek companies are increasingly adopting clean energy technologies, circular economy practices, and resource reuse solutions. Recent Environmental Performance Reports (Ministry of Environment & Energy – 2024–2025) show a clear reduction in CO₂ emissions and improved sustainability indicators in industries that invest in:
- Upgrading boilers and combustion systems.
- Heat recovery from steam and flue gases.
- Energy monitoring and digital energy management systems.
- The integration of Renewable Energy Sources (RES) in industrial facilities.
The adoption of these technologies not only leads to substantial emission reductions but also delivers strong economic benefits, as it lowers energy consumption and strengthens production sustainability.
Industry in Greece is steadily moving toward a cleaner, more efficient future—where technology and environmental responsibility go hand in hand.
